    Named for its use in the parlor or on a porch during a couple's days of courtship, the Courting (or Tandem) dulcimer is essentially two dulcimers put together to make one instrument. It was traditionally played on the laps of the couple while facing one another. It has two fretboards and two headstocks mounted on a very wide body. This mountain dulcimer makes a wonderful wedding gift or the ideal instrument for couples who both play the mountain dulcimer.
